Burton's Characters

After watching the clip from Alice In Wonderland duribg classs yesterday, I noticed a few things.  For instance, I noticed that Burton brought up the riddle about the black raven and the desk.  I also noticed that Burton had a knight in the movie, and I don't think there was one in the book, or from what I've read so far.  I also noticed, that the Hatter was really mad at the Cheshire Cat about something that the cat said wasn't his fault.  Another thing to mention is the Hatter made Alice drink something that made her shrink, which was pretty cool to watch, instead of having to imagine it.
As for things that stood out to me, there was only one thing that stood out, and it was Wonderland having a dark creepy feel to it, rather than how it was in the book.

Character POV

Dear Journal, let me tell you that I met the most infuriating person in my entire life.  At first, everything was going completely normal, till somehow I wound up in the middle of this ocean, and met a little girl who was just swimming.  She tried to say something to me, but I couldn't hear her, so i swam closer, and when I was close enough she brought up her cat.  I was petrified when she said that, becaus eyou know why.  Then she apologized and we swam to land, where we met a  bunch of other animals.
We got into a caucus race, but it really wasn't much of a race since everyone started when they wanted to and ended when they wanted to.  Then the girl brought up her cat again, and she asked me why I hate cats and I told her the tale of cats and mice.  While I was telling it she kept looking at my tail, then I brought up a knot, and she said to let her look at my tail so she could untie it, which infuriated me imensely.  After that last insult I left her, quite mad at her.  To be honest I hope I never have to see her again. Well, got to go.

Women's Rights

During the Victorian Era in England women had no rights whatsoever.  All they could do really, was stay home, because during th time period they were told that was there place.  Also, they were raised just to get married for when they came of age.  Another to poin to bring up, married women weren't allowed to own property, and whatever they had been given to them by their family, was put ih the hands of their husbands.  It stayed like that until 1887 when the Married Women's Property Act was passed, which allowed them to own property, sepearte or divorce from their husbands and still be able to see their children.

Favorite book

Out of all the books that I have read, I would have to say my favorite book is Raising Dragons by Bryan Davis.  My Aunt Donna and Uncle John gave it to me as a Confirmation when I was fourteen.  Once I started reading it, I became hooked, and it's been my favorite book ever since.
